GTX 970 Owners Club

Are there any BIOS for the MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GD5T OC (this has the same PCB as the GAMING) PCB rev1.1 with the Hynix memory? My card never reached 1.262v even though i have increased the voltages by +75mV offset (trying to find a stable voltage for 1566/8000).

your card might be voltage locked.

My G1 Gaming when I got it had really bad paste, I had to use a damn toothpick to get it off.

these cards come with bad thermal paste and its a known issue.

my G1 Gaming with NT-H1 on it didn't break 67c at that voltage.

I agree. When I took my G1 gaming apart to put on the Waterblock.

The stock paste was hard & thick & really hard to get it all off properly.

And it only ran for a max of 4 hours before I took the stock cooler off...

If coil whine is present when a game has like 200+fps, then turn on v-sync. I doubt that shorting those resistors will help, but you can give it a try, it won`t harm your GPU.

That is with vsync enabled.

I got the G1 Gaming, I liked how it looked + it performs with few frames better than the others (3/4-5 fps). Maybe slightly cooler than the others as well.

Windforce edition doesn't have a backplate and LED logo. It's not loud ( G1 and windforce ) and is capable of more OC.

When do the fans get higher than that unless you have an aggressive fan curve?

Only look at the G1 Gaming if you want the LED and backplate. Gigabyte does not bin them contrary to their on-boxa dvertisement.

True, but why wouldn't you get the G1 Gaming? The price difference between the regular Windforce card and the G1 is rather small, and the backplate really is quite useful to retain rigidity and prevent sag on such an vast card, not to mention the fact that it looks much better with a backplate, and judging by how warm it gets, I'd say it also adds quite something to cooling.

Gigabyte do not bin their GPU as advertised (hence the very small price difference between the G1 Gaming And Windforce cards-getting someone to go through the GPU and bin them takes time and money). Simple.

Fair enough, but seeing as the price difference between the Windforce and the G1 Gaming is about as large as the going rate for backplates, I'd say you're not even paying for the binning, so who cares if it's there or not? You pay about the amount of money you'd pay for a Windforce plus a backplate, and in return you get a Windforce with a backplate and a fancy G1 logo. Equally simple...
