Hey guys I'm been researching this for a while and I have seen everything points to lowering the PhysX setting, but I'm seeing a lot of people getting like 90 fps with all high settings with less hardware. I'm staying around 60 fps. In Crysis 3 I get about 70-90 fps with everything high.

What section of the game? I may be able to answer your question.

It could be a driver issue. Try uninstalling them and installing them (checking off Clean Install) again. But Borderlands 2 is kind of buggy. With the new DLC, I get some frame drops in one area(but not consistently).

It might also be a driver issue specifically with Borderlands 2.

When I play, if I have VSYNC off or adaptive VSYNC on I get tearing. If I have VSYNC on I get frame drop in some areas.

So it's play with constant tearing or occasional frame drop. :(

I got to about lvl 30 and just got feed up with it.

Video card and drivers?

if its in firefights could be the AI kicking in and using the CPU more intensively causing the slowdowns.

With my 7870 XT it stays around 90fps always, Ive not had a problem with borderlands at all since I upgraded, it must be because I have an i3.

There is another thread just like yours here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/32828-borderlands-2-not-running-on-a-660/

The only thing you have in common is the drivers. I had the 320.49 driver and I had fps drops and visuals crashing all the time so I rolled back to my old drivers and now everything works perfectly.

I've got an i7 3770 at 3.9ghz with a radeon 7870 and my wife has a Core 2 Duo at 3.16ghz with a radeon 7870 and I end up getting more slow down than her, it makes no sense, all latest drivers (13.4) and all same settings in the game which is all cranked up besides physx being at Low/off. Makes no sense We'll be playing a LAN match together and I get slow down whenever I zoom in on any weapons, or just face certain ways in parts of levels, she'll do the same thing and no slow down, I'd think an i7 would be a little faster than a core 2 duo.... :/
