Hi.

My first SSD, was a Intel 80 GB for my laptop which cost about 2.400 kr ( 340 $ ) when i bought it, jesus:P

However, ever since my first SSD, i knew that was the way to go.

Later i bought a 120 GB SSD for my gamer PC.

Now later, i would like more space for games, and i'm not sure what is the best way to go.

I currently got a SSD and a HDD.

OCZ Vertex3 120 GB

Western Digital Blue 500 GB

For some games, i really don't care / can't see the difference if it is running on either the SSD or the HDD, but in some games, i can.

If i do a proper cleaning of the programs i need etc. i have 70 GB available on my SSD, that is not enough for GTA 5 which i'm looking forward to.

So i'm thinking i got 3 choices.

Buy another SSD, same size as my currently and run it in RAID 0

Buy 2 smaller SSD's and run them in RAID 0.

Buy a bigger SSD, not using RAID.

Is it a bad idea to buy a new different SSD and run it in RAID 0 with my current Vertex 3?

I fully know the "risk" of running RAID 0, and it's not a problem.

I have no important/sensitive files on my PC, it's all on my server with daily backups.

Ugh. I really dislike old Vertexes. I have a Vertex II 50GB in my laptop. Sub-40MB/s write speeds..

I'm quite happy with my drive setup. 240GB SSD for OS and programs, 500GB HDD for games, and another 500GB for videos and backups and stuff. I recommend you just buy a 240/256GB SSD when you see a good one on sale for under $100 US. (Dunno how different prices are wherever you are, but under $100 is good for a quality 240/256.)
