Id like to do a Search Engine test to once and for all see if Linus is a hypocrite about search engines. Linus has said that Google is great, bing sucks but Yahoo is alight even though apparently yahoo gets their results from the same place Bing does. Is Bing really that bad vs the others? Is Google the best ever? Help me out with suggestions of things to search.

I would really like some help on what I should search. I am going to compare Google, Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo

I'm thinking there should be certain categories which are:
Category Category ideas
Government: Questions for the browser to answer about dates, events, documents, or people
locations: What each search engine says about a small city and a large city, events, historical info
Food/Dinning: What suggestions will be brought up for things like places to eat and recipes for a dish
Music: Some music search topics such as artists, songs, sheet music
Movies: I'm thinking of searching for top lists and more specific of actors, movies
Shopping: Looking for specific items I should search and find what comes up

If you can think of other categories that would be great.

What I need from each category is 1. General Search(EX: New York) 2. Specific Search (EX: How tall is the empire state building) 3. Hard to find search (EX: What was that one thing that happened that one time in New York) but for this hard to find search I will need to know what the correct thing should come up.

Please give me any and all ideas of what your searches would be for each topic.

I will be making another post for when I have done the Search Engine Test

While Yahoo uses Bing. It's results are different, as it uses the engine differently.

What Microsoft is more interested is search queries and which link you click on and stay on (end of search). This how the engine builds links, and get better. Of course, it is isn't just an automated process, the engine needs to be continuously improved, much like Googles one which works in similar fashion (concept wise).

Why don't we find out how similar they are. I'm looking for suggestions of questions.

I just want to know what results would indicate Linus is a hypocrite?   I mean, having a preference for a search engine, or even having a personal experience of one being better than another does not technically make him a hypocrite does it?

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.
