I would like a list of computer parts to build a gaming/media PC. High storage and no SSD please as low budget as possible, small form factor (no atx or larger) and this must last a while as this will be my dad's new "console" Oh PS I am in Canada, eh

Personally I would go with one of the prebuilt NCIX pcs and go from there you can have them built it and test it so you don't have to deal with any DAO parts plus you can always buy each part individually and build it yourself also you can customize it too. I would like to help more but its way too much work to give you an entire list of components its allot of work plus there are tons of guides online that can help you.

Your topic is vague.

What budget are you aiming for?
What will be the uses for it? Gaming/media is a bit vague.
What games will your dad be playing? Will he be playing them in 1080p or 720p?
"High storage" meaning what? 1TB? 2TB? 4TB? more?
Do you need peripherals?

Btw chipbreak, when giving a link to PCpartpicker, you need to give the permalink (top left corner of the list) and not the page URL.

What is your budget? And how much storage do you want?

Yeah, more information would be good, especially budget.

Sorry guys my internet was not working and couldn't respond here is what i tried to post before it went down-

I keep trying to ask more from him but he doesn't give me much to work with so ill answer your questions in order don't know as low as i can for decent performance, putting behind a television in a cabinet, simcity, KSP, minecraft, he doesnt really know but not anything as GPU intensive as metro and likely 720p-1080p somewhere in between, The best price point of gb a hard drive we can always add more later, I told him the keyboard, mouse will be up to him and he will use the tevevision as a monitor

I'd rather go for something like this: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/1diLC

-I didn't see the use for the CoolerMaster fan, really. Since you're trying to hit the lowest price point possible, I removed it.

-Since you're using an APU, the system RAM is shared by both the GPU and the CPU so having slow memory will greatly impact your FPS in games so I went with 1866MHz memory instead

-The 6800K is unlocked vs the 6700 meaning it will be easier to overclock to get the most out of it, and even if you're not overclocking, it's just a better overall chip.

Other than that, the rest seems just fine. Have fun building!

I picked that fan because the reason were getting a PC is he burn the MOBO of the PS3 by not having good enough air get through, I picked the 6700 beacuse of the lower power and he wont do any overclocking he hates overclocking with a passion (out of fear) but I did forget about the faster RAM thanks

-The Prodigy will supply more than enough airflow and it has dust filters on the intakes, no need to add the fan your PC won't overheat. Especially so since he won't even be overclocking and there isn't even a GPU heating up the inside furthermore.
-The power supply is overkill for the system you have so power consumption doesn't really matter (unless you care THAT much about your electrical bill :P)
-The 6800K isn't only good just because of the overclocking capabilities, it also performs even better than the 6700 in games and overall (http://hothardware.com/Reviews/AMD-A106800K-and-A106700-Richland-APUs-Tested/?page=9
