Nvidia vs Amd for adobe cc

I was wondering how Amd and Nvidia compare for content creation purposes. I know that nvidia has cuda which amazing for premiere and other software. But I don't know how Amd stacks up for the same tasks.

My system intel xeon e3 1231-v3/zotac gtx 97016gb ram/256gb ssd + 2tb hdd + 3tb external hdd/EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze/roswill line m/hyper 212 evo/windows 10

Depends if you're using OpenCL or not.

OpenCL = AMD all the way

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

So what is open cl?

if you select render in media encoder you have the option to use the mercury renderer which uses the opencl framework which amd is much better optimised for 

 

 

 

Open Computing Language (OpenCL) is a framework for writing programs that execute across heterogeneous platforms consisting of central processing units (CPUs), graphics processing units (GPUs), digital signal processors (DSPs), field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and other processors.

check which is supported by the software you're using..if premiere is cuda optimized, then I can say amd gpu will perform not better..(couldn't say worse.lol)

 

same goes for softwares supported by openCL, if nvidia cards are used, there is lesser performance.

 

i can only base my answer from using tekla structures and its clash check function

What parts of the specs should I be looking at when purchasing a gpu for content creations?
