Have a <6 month old Kingston hyper x 256gb ssd in my rig for os. I've twice now been thrown into boot and shown the BOOTLDR MISSING message. It clears after disconnecting the drives and reconnecting.
No issues in bios.
Could it be signs of a dying ssd, or a bad sata cable (its in the qr slot in an air540 using the factory cable.
Cheers.

Then I'd suggest you stop reading? Why go hunting for offence? Move along.

I dunno. If you're going to be flippant about an illness as devastating as Alzheimer's you ought to expect some flak as a result. You're taking the statistical chance of dragging up some of the most unpleasant memories and experiences in at least some of the people who are going to be reading this, then having a go at people as if you had nothing to do with it.

Not having a go at all, just don't know why people feel the need to constantly look for offense and broadcast it when they do inevitably find it. If I find something like a post, a picture, a channel or program offensive, I generally avoid it or move along. Hardly making a joke out of an illness. Let's try and keep the forum light hearted shall we?

Have you went to Kingston's Website and checked their Support area or their community yet? http://www.kingston.com/us/community

your SSD could have a known issue that has already been acknowledged or maybe even fixed by a firmware update or something else.......

hope this helps, good luck

as for the title of your thread containing "Early on set Alzheimer's" , well for those who have never experienced it via from family members having it, or having it your own self...... it is hard for one to really grasp how offensive those words might be , being used in a computer tech community.......... I myself was diagnosed with it 12+ years ago, and also went through it with my Grandma on my Mom's side as well as dealing with it with my Mom now..... I pray that no one ever has to go through the struggles of this disease from either side ( having it or having to take care of a loved one who has it ).....just seeing the words typed somewhere can bring up strong emotions for most who have dealt or are dealing with it....... just saying

I can overlook it myself, and I do not think you meant any harm or ill will in using these particular words in your thread title...but in the age of the internet, we all interpret the way we read "simple plain text" because it is jut that plain text, no emotion is conveyed through text, as it would be through video chatting, talking on the phone or in person......

just my thoughts on the matter.....

glad I found this linus tech tips community

cheers

TC
