Which would you recommend?

I am panning for gold so to speak for the best possible pc for around 600-800 dollars. I have created one I like on PC parts picker, but my brother told me it was going to perform waay worse than one he could make for the same price... soo as the title says which would you guys pick?

I honestly dont care who wins... mine is more of an AMD build just because the cpu seems better for the price and the 280x is a great budget card.. while his is a more Intel build with the 4690k and a 280 (no X) and the rest is just taste

Mine. His has a 4690k with a H81 mobo (uhh... what?), so yeah.

Looks like he has an r9 285, but the 4690k is going to outperform and keep its value longer than the fx-6300, especially if your going to be gaming more

Intel but switch out for the 285 for a 280

get a decent CPU and you don't need upgrades for 2-3 years, so his is the option but please in the name of Gabe get an other MoBO

I would think a mixture of the two builds with a low end i5 and 280x.

4690k and a H81...? lolwut

Both builds could be improved upon. The FX-6300 is going to be way outdated soon and it wont perform as well as an i5.

i do like the intel over the 6300 iz just that it really tightens up the buffer of breathing room in what I pick elswhere... (ie storage ram case PSU ect)

Thats looks good indeed.

Maybe in the future you can upgrade it with a SSD, thats my recomendation.

I like it that is definately more even except I will actually probably get the g3258 and then later get the 4690k because it is unlocked
