Hi, I just wanted to ask something on fans.

Right now I have 2 fans, one in the front other in the back.

-would adding more fans lower PC overall temps ? (No issue with temps just want to know)

-what kind of fans do I need (are slow rpm fans better) ?

-would i see big difference in temps with, lets say 3 more fans ? (1 at the front, 2 on the top)

and would my psu handle 3 more fans ?

Amd fx6300

Amd r9 280x Sapphire

2 sticks of RAM 8GB total

Cooler Master 650W PSU

Adding more fans won't lower your temps.

Adding properly laid out fans will.

Make sure you have a plan for airflow, or else it's a waste.

The projects never end in my line of work.

1 - yes, but plan the air flow out. exception is if there is already a water cooling loop in place

2 - look at notua's fans, but in general, bigger fans are better

3 - not necessarily massive drop in temps, but an aftermarket cooler on the cpu with extra fans on that will drop the temps.

overall, get the air in and out as fast as possible

1) In general, yes. But you'd have to think about where to place them.

2) Depends on the case and components. For an air cooled PC, AF fans are generally better. If air is passing through a radiator, or has something like drive cages in the way, SP will be the better choice. Low RPM fans will be quieter, but will move less air than their higher RPM counterparts.

3) Depends. If you have poor airflow, it can completely prevent overheating.

It certainly would help. But if your temps are already good then the improvement wouldn't be as noticeable.

The type of fans depends what you're looking for, there are four things to consider;

Size,

Designation (radiator or airflow)

Noise (lower rpms help with this)

Again, it depends on what hardware yo have and how hot it is to start with. It's hard to say exactly.

A lot depends on the case too. If your case is rather restricted in terms of ventilation, you'll see a difference. If it has plenty of ventilation holes and room, you'll barely notice it.

For reference :

My HAF X currently runs with a single 200mm intake fan (at the front). I barely notice any difference compared to before (2x 200mm and 1x 120mm intake, 2x200mm and 1x 140mm exhaust). Temps are around 1-2°C higher, but that may be down to a slightly higher room temperature the last few days.

Several years ago I upgraded my buddy's prebuilt Acer tower by adding a 120mm exhaust fan (it only had a 120mm intake fan originally), and we saw the average CPU temperature drop by more than 5°C.

Im still a newbie :D

Well, when gaming hard (AC:Unity on High) my GPU temps dont go over 67-69 C, but at that time fans are spinning at 1850 RPM and whole thing feels like its gonna take off to the moon, so I thought maybe better airflow and general lower temperature inside case would be better.

I have N500 Cooler Master case and bascilly whole case is made out of holes lol. But really front, top, bottom, back everywhere holes.

As am i :P

It certainly would help. Try adding a a fan to your side pannel, it may help some :) It probably wont be too dramatic though.
