I have a Sony Vaio S 15 laptop and it has an i7 3632QM. Its base clock is 2.2 GHz and turbos to 3.2 GHz. Although, i am only getting 2.9 GHz on high performance mode. I use razer Cortex and put my computer to speed mode, but i cannot reach 3.2 GHz. It is not that old of a laptop and I cannot overclock it because it is a laptop. On CPU-Z it says my multiplyer can go to X32. Should I change something in the settings? Should I download something to help me? I already tried to contact Sony, but they couldnt help me. Also the temp of it is around 70 degrees Celcius, and its max temp is 105 C.

Laptop specs (I added it incase it is the problem) :

I7 3632QM

GT 640M LE

8 GB ddr3 RAM

750 GB hard drive (not ssd)

Windows 8.1

what tempreture is it running at because if its too hot it won't turbo up and it will only trubo to 3.2GHz on one core i think atleast thats how the desktop processors work

l Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.5Ghz l Asus VII Ranger ROG l MSI GTX 970 @ 1555MHz l

It goes at around 70 degrees cel. Intel says that it can reach 150 cel.

It will only turbo to that with a single cores usage. ie: 1 CPU @ 100% = Max Turbo

With 2 CPU's @ 100% you get a slightly slower Turbo (usually 100mhz less)

With 3 CPU's @ 100% it's slightly slower again... so on and so forth.

Load Prime95/any other bench to run on 1 core and then it should give you the MaxTurbo clock.

Laptops only have so much wattage available to them at any given time and have strict power management routines for the CPU as compared to Desktop CPU's where power saving isn't as much of a HUGE focus.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

my bios wont let me

The BIOS won't let you do that simple because it's disabled out of the box for the following reasons:

-Power consumption

-Heat output

-Instability

-The CPU is locked from overclocking

-You have a laptop

Sorry mate.. No OC'ing for you.
