Hello community,

So I want to try overclocking my FX-6300. Now the problem is, it's my first time overclocking.

I know already the pros and cons of overclocking.

Please anwser my questions :)

Some Infos:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 Black Editon ( 3.5 Ghz )

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V

Mobo: Asus M5A97 R2.0

Questions:

Is it even possible to overclock with this setup?

Which Software do i need for Overclocking? ( Temp. , Stresstest etc. )

How much should i go with overclocking the FX-6300?

Any tips ? :)

Thank you in advance

That motherboard is actually decent .

6+2 power phase I think.

VRM heatsinks.

It depends a lot on the quality of the chip also.

Baby steps. Every CPU is different, and pushing the chip too much can land you on Newegg buying another one.

Small increases in voltage and clock.

The projects never end in my line of work.
