So some years ago people would warn you left and right about not exerting too much power when you fitted the cooler onto your cpu, and up til today i'd never really heard of anyone who'd managed to.. But of course there's always a first, and today was that day for Me!

 

We were fitting a new server up at My place of business, equipping it with pretty pricey hardware, had mounted both cpu's which were Xeon 2697 v3's on top of an Asus z10pe-16 ws motherboard, and a colleague had just finished setting the CPU's and strapped them in as i came up with the coolers, mounted the first one with no issues, and also the second one.. but then i stood up, and in the process of standing i slipped on something and my hand slammed down, along with my full weight on one of the coolers, which caused some real disturbing sounds from the hardware .. So we disassembled everything and checked.. Low and behold .. motherboard was kinda warped, and checking it under a electronic microscope it turned out to be fractured (bye bye $800) and then we disassembled the coolers and took out the CPU's, and 1 of them had broken, to where the corner was missing.

 

All in all, my day feels like a nearly $4400 mistake.. How's your day going?

@MobiFix Pretty crappy, just woke up half an hour ago. In severe pain, some sort of bronchitis that I have had for 3 weeks. Went to the ER the night before last and they drugs they gave me don't help worth a damn, not to mention the cost it took to get the medicine and the doctors appointments before that. I have insurance and it still cost a couple hundred. And on top of that they prescription for my cough medicine is going to run out today and the doctors won't be open today because it's sunday. They gave me enough for two days yet they expected the cough to last another week or two. Good old florida.

 

But at least I am not alone in being miserable I guess lol.

Mines been pretty good, Picked up a few q6600 rigs, organised to get a few 560ti's and 7850's tomorrow to put in the rigs, polish up and sell, put the finishing touches on my new psu sleeving and got a new desk cause I just moved in with my girlfriend then had a cruise on my longboard through Carlton gardens in melbourne and abit in the cbd. Pretty damn productive
