PSU question

Go to solution Solved by dadasmithywinkle,

Hey guys, I built my system a few months ago, but I have a question about the PSU. This is my build:

CPU: AMD FX 8320 (haven't overclocked it yet)

MOBO: Asus M5A97 R2.0

GPU: Sapphire Dual X R9 280

RAM: 8GB Kingston HyperX @ 1600Mhz

HDD: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM

SSD: Adata SP900 128GB

some disk drive that doesn't work too well....

But my question is this. I used the Cooler Master PSU calculator and based on that I picked up an EVGA 500W PSU. Is that enough to handle an overclock? I haven't any problems at all as of yet, but I also haven't overclocked yet. Thanks for your help guys.

Yeah, it'll handle an OC just fine. I've ran a 4790K OC'd with a 430w psu and there were no issues.
