So I recently applied thermal paste and see that 2-3mm is oozing, like not onto the side of the CPU but the AS5 just spreaded onto more of the heat sink. I've read it is bad if the TIM is ozing, so would this affect temps of the machine or should do another application?

Thermal paste is not conductive so it won't do any harm but if you apply too much you'll have bubbles and that will affect temperatures negatively. A small rice sized dot of thermal paste is more than enough, it'll spread on its own. http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Thermal-Paste-Application-Techniques-170/

some of it is conductive.

I never do what the videos say. I put some on the cpu and spread it thin with my clean finger. it covers good and you only put on as much is needed.

Never do that man just apply a line or a dot depending of the form then the heatsink do the rest.  ;)

With your finger you gonna create air bubbles that gonna generate more heat and increase temp the opposite of what they are made for. :o

hasn't happened yet. ac5 needed it to be done that way and ALL of that overly thick stuff with the "diamonds" in it........ those were the worst.

I also learned that the thin stuff ( zalman super thermal grease ) is about best for my stuff. Very thin..... that has an applicator along the lines of a nail polish brush.
