The 960 is decent but most of the people here would recommend an AMD card for that price range.

960/R270X/280 all good cards. But you cant go wrong with Nvidia <3

Either the 280X or the GTX 960. Whichever is cheaper.

It depends on the price. If it's less than 20$ more than an R9 280, it's good value. Otherwise either get an R9 280 or a 280x. Or a 290 if you can make the stretch, they are dirt cheap for what they are.

Nvidia 960 is more equivalent to an AMD R9 280x or 285.

 

Now look up the prices for those cards and get the cheapest of them, the performance will be more or less the same. There are a ton of videos online about the performance of the 960
