would painting fan fins decrease performance?

Go to solution Solved by Elven,

Yup, it will. The fins are precisely designed to the shape and size, for optimal airflow and audible noise ^_^ .

If you paint them, it will disrupt the airflow and probably cause a lot of noise.

I am planing to buy the Fractal Arc Midi R2, but i dont like the white fan blades. if i removed the blades from the housing and the motor and just painted the outside would it have an impact on performance?.

yes if you mean painting with paint but not much if spray paint them

so it depends on the tickness of the paint basically?

yeah pretty much, even a very thin layer will cause a difference, suppose it depends how much you really care though as another user suggested dying them is your best choice aside from buying different fans to put in
