750 vs 750 ti

Go to solution Solved by Aniallation,

The 270 is $200 or $200+ anywhere around here, and its upsetting due to me having a budget of $210 right now and needing the GPU today.

750 is $159 while 750 TI FTW is $199

If you have anywhere close to a decent PSU, the 270 for $200 will still be better then the 750 Ti FTW for $199.

Is it really worth the extra $50 at bestbuy for the TI? Isn't the only difference a slightly higher overclock?

search here 750

and pick one with high clock cheap price

Doesn't the 750 only have 1GB and the 750 Ti has 2GB?

If that is the case, it is worth it.

Otherwise you could look into the R9 270 in that price range (if you have a decent PSU)

First off, try to avoid Best Buy, as their prices can be quite extreme. Also, the 750 has 1 GB of RAM while the 570ti has 2GB. More RAM is becoming more and more important these days so unless you REALLY REALLY can't spare 20$, PLEASE buy the 750ti instead of the 750.

How much is the 270 for you?

EVGA 750 Ti is 170 euros here for me and usually euros are higher than dollars..

well any chance of thinking of upgrading in a couple of months? if so might as well get the 750 non ti and just upgrade if you're not 100% sure then maybe the 750 ti ftw might be a better option.

edit if the 270 or 270x is in your price range might as well go with that.

That doesn't really make sense. 750 Ti is already at the top of OP's budget, 960 will cost quite a bit more.

Dude, read the thread and use a brain. There is no way that a 960 is going to cost ten dollars more then a 750 Ti.

He needs the GPU today, and therefore he's buying from somewhere locally. Both the R9 270 and 750 Ti cost about the same of ordering online, around $140.

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp43757kr

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-axr92702gbd5tdheoc

If where ever the store he's buying from is increasing the price of these cards by ~$60 (my local PC parts store does similar as well), then it's more then likely that that 960 is also going to cost around that much more at his store compared to online prices.

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-gtx960gaming2g

Around $260, much over OP's budget.

And at that price might as well get one of these, since 2GB of VRAM is becoming limiting for AAA games, even at 1080p.

The PNY 750 at bestbuy has 2gb, while the 750 FTW there also has 2gb. The only difference I saw while looking that them was the slightly higher clock. Which Is why I asked.. The PNY is $159 while the TI FTW edition is $199

you're paying for the brand it's a similar situation between brands like pny and evga with cards of all prices

Have you looked? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487091

And the FTW card is at the top, you can get 750 ti's for 150-170

Did you even read my reply or did you already start going to yap?

OP is not ordering online, he is buying locally. The prices at his local PC store are higher then the prices on Newegg/PCPartPicker

I believe the 750 Ti is worth the extra $50. Not only do you get double the ram, but the performance is higher as well as a more efficient card. I own one and it is a nice card for the money.

I could not agree more that 750ti is great

“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”
