I cannot run a single game please help!

I just built my pc last night and installed steam and tried to play portal  2, it froze before the menu came up and now i can get to the menu but as soon as i click on something it will freeze. I have also tried playing smite which freezes as soon as i press enter to log in. the freeze will freeze the picture then the key board and then the mouse forcing me to manually restart the computer, i have downloaded all the newest drivers off of amds web site and even downloaded the beta version and that did not help, i also verified the game cache for portal 2 which also did nothing. Windows is 8.1 with all the updates. I have also tried to deactivate the framework 3 but that did nothing but not allow smite to launch. Any suggestion is appreciated thanks.

post a picture of your CPU Z in here aswell with a afterburner one

What graphics card do you have? AMD? NVIDIA? Intel? Latest graphics driver?

What do you mean latest AMD beta driver? If your graphics card is an AMD? The latest driver is the "Omega (14.12)" the beta is 14.11.2 or something like that... it's older than the Omega drivers.

What are your specs ?

What driver version are you using ?

Are you overclocking ?

If so what settings and with what software ?

What are your temps (CPU and GPU) ?
