My dad is in need of a new laptop.  He's had the same Sony VAIO for about 5 or 6 years now and it has just become outdated and slow.  He's a lawyer, so he would use it mostly for typing, email, and maybe some video chatting with his clients.  I've done some looking around and I found the Dell Inspiron 14 (5447). It's within his price range, has a decent processor (Intel Core i5-4210U)(speed isn't his main concern considering what he'll be doing with the laptop), 1TB of storage so he can store all of his documents, and a long-lasting battery life.

I would just like some comments regarding this option.  Any pros or cons would be greatly appreciated.  Also any suggestions for a different computer.

Considering that he reads a lot of documents try to make sure that the laptop has a good screen, he will appreciate it.

pcmag.com says, "The system is outfitted with a 14-inch display with 1,366-by-768 resolution, which is a common resolution at this price range... It's high enough for 720p HD video... The display offers 10-point capacitive touch,"

Hmm to avoid problems with windows scaling I guess it will do fine even with 1366 by 768
