I've decided on the parts I'm getting and I wanna know what you guys think, it cost around 800$ in Sweden, because, you know, Swedens prices are great. I might wanna make videos and I probably will upgrade to a 290/970 at christmas since Windows 10 is bringing DX12 and that'll make 6-8 Core CPU's get their full power which is great! Hopefully no bottlenecking! I tried to go for a Intel (4460/4690k) but they're almost 100$ more expensive than a FX 8320 here. The games I really want to play are CS:GO, Dont Starve(MEGA PACK), Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (I have had it on 360 since release) and maybe The Division if optimized good. Also recommend games if you want! :-) I will be overclocking, GPU to 1GHz and the CPU to around 4-4,4GHz.

It's good and I might get away with that but will it be better for video making? I know at this time it'll get better gaming performance. If I go with a 1TB Blue and normal 280 I can get away with it.

The i5 is pretty good , I would say the fx 8320 beats it in video editing sure.

But you will have a much superior gaming cpu.

Depends on what you want to compromise.

The i5 is not the best thing ever for video editing but its decent.

@Laputacake uses one for it ;#

this is a lot like the pc ill be building soon, good luck! a lot of people on this forum will try to convince you to go intel but that cpu should be fine for now, just remember if you want to upgrade to intel later you will also have to buy a new mobo :/

Broke 14 Year old + No job + Love for Technology = Bad combo :(

also you should be able to edit videos well on that cpu, but it might not utilize that graphics card completely for gaming. Also since it's and octo core it should be good for streaming your CSGO if my memory serves me right

Yup , we simply suggest the better upgrade path.

OP can upgrade to a 4790 later if need be , with am3+ he is stuck.

I'd rather have better multitasking and video editing than up to only 10 fps better ^.^ Thanks for trying though, I'll still consider that. And streaming would also be better for a FX 8320 so...And maybe if the rumors about DX12 are true maybe a FX 8320 will be on level with i5's and "weaker" i7's

Meh I woundlt hold my breath.

Keep in mind you are buying an old outdated platform with no upgrade path whereas on LGA 1150 you can upgrade to an i7 later.

I consider that a bad idea but its up to you.

go for the i5 because the FX proccesor lineup is old and loses single core performance to Intel CPUs from 2007. If you're using adobe programs get a 760 as its slightly slower in games but adobe programs like CUDA cores.

the main difference between this build and mine is the gpu, I will be getting the gtx 960 for shield support and some other things, look into the games you will be playing and whether they are better optimized for the 960 or the 280 as they are similarly priced. also the 960 is cooler and more efficient so it will be easier to add another down the line for sli. But the 280 has more vram, so if you are planning on going to 1440p or a higher resolution display the 280 is better for you. at this point im typing to avoid doing class work soooo yeah.

That's about £500 UK... any chance you could import some parts from the UK? It'd give you some availability when it comes to options.

There's this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/P3P423

Or this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/mDYxP6

And this is the FX option that wont burn your house down if you OC: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/xxwBWZ
