Ew Amd i would go 970

Really. Did you even look at his specs or his budget/price range, or did your bias blind you when reading the OP?

REALLY? You're going to ignorantly disregard AMD and not even mention that he has and AMD AM3+ board with and unknown model i5. Glad you feel it is more important to recommend an Nvidia gpu over compatible parts.

that gpu is almost same price as 970/960

It's nowhere near the price of a 970. Don't suggest stuff based on your fanboyism.

OP, what would be your budget?

im very music selective :P

just happens to be that

1) hes not a trashy rapper, actually makes music by himself, makes beats by himself, not junk with tons of features and repetition

2) i spend a lot of time alone, giving me time to listen and compare and realize what good music is

Only thing I would suggest differently would be the gpu. You can get a 290x, which is faster and maybe slightly hotter(you wont notice) and less power efficient, for far cheaper than a 970 right now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125499&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Other than that this build is great.

Also, maybe if you're just going to be gaming then maybe go for an i3 4370? I believe the per-core performance is better (don't quote me on that) and is about $20-30 depending on where you live. However, if you're going to do other stuff besides gaming then stick with the stronger multithreaded CPU i5.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

The r9 280 is a great card, have it myself. Works really well, but PLS. Get the approiate cooler, none of thus club 3D crap. Sapphires good, MSI, Asus, and most others are just fine, but don't try to save a few dollars going cheap on the graphics card cooler. (P.S, I have the windoforce onez amazing overclocker.)
