What is better AMD Athlon X4 760K or the AMD Athlon X4 860K?

I can't decide what to buy for my gaming pc build.

Depending on your GPU, neither. The 860K is better, however it bottlenecks my R9 280.

The 860K beats the 760K in every aspect as far as I know.

Depending on your GPU, neither. The 860K is better, however it bottlenecks my R9 280.

With such a budget CPU I don't think he'll buy a high-end card.

The 860K is a better CPU, but it is not better by that much. I'd personally buy whatever is cheaper if it is significantly cheaper.

However, even Intel's i3s perform better for gaming for the most part, so I'd be more eager to suggest one of those (though your budget probably will not fit it.)

^^ that is a helpful response. the only way that you were helpful if the op never has ever heard of intel. You shouldn't fanboy over a brand and try to provide helpful responses to members of the community .

If you had given him a specific item, or even a setup, then I might have agreed with you. But your post is quite literally spam mate. It's akin to me asking what amd card i should buy and the first post being "Save money buy nvidia" you gave no reasoning, no thought, no insight into your opinion, you just spouted it out. Perhaps try explaining why you would recommend intel over an amd card, give him some prices, give him some benchmarks; It's that kind of nonsensical brand slapping that makes people into fanboys and ruins tech conversations for the rest of us.

I can't decide what to buy for my gaming pc build.

In that case, go with either is fine. Whatever is cheaper. Though I think the 860K has a better Per Clock speed.
