faster cpu or more ram?

Go to solution Solved by Xaring,

Still, you can just intall a dimm in his computer if needed, but you cant change the CPU...

You can get 2nd hand 4GB dimms quite cheap

Hi all,

Im looking for a laptop for a friend, whos budget its 300€, though upto 350€ is allowed ONLY if he gains significant preformance or a 1080p display.

Now i have seen some good ones but since i never made or bought pcs for general microsoft office, internet and movie use only (he wont game at all on it) im unsure what will give him bestter preformance an i3 4030u w 4gb ram or an i3 3217u w 6 gb of ram.

Now i know 4gbs is generally enough, though so should be the slower 3217u. Main question is, which will help more? The fastet cpu or the extra 2gb of ram?
