Hello.

I am building a PC for someone and I wanted to know what would be the better choice:

An i5 4460 with an R7 240 ( which he already has laying around so he will not have to pay for it )

or an i3 4150 with an R7 250X.

He is a programmer and works mostly with Visual Studio but sometimes uses other IDEs. He is now looking into gaming but nothing too demanding ( for example PES 2015 ).

Get the i5, He'll benefit more from the better cpu in his scenario. Upgrading a gpu is also much easier and offers a better upgrade path since gpus will be compatible with his motherboard for a long time.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

Both of those cards are crap. The i5 will be the best for him since he's editing. Let him use the integrated graphics instead of getting a shitty card - he can buy a better one later. A GTX 750/750ti would be far superior.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

Honestly, that's one of my favorite videos from Linus. Don't know why.

Anyway, I'd look into not getting a GPU at all and getting a 4690k or something, since the i5 has integrated graphics to play some lower quality games without an issue.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.
