Car Suggestions?

RevoltTrain

I'm looking to buy a car fairly soon as I'm 16 and do need a car. I live in the US, so obviously it needs to be a car I can buy here states side. Also the plan to buy the STI that some of you knew about fell out. I'm looking to keep it under 20K and want something that has a bit of power to it, a bit fast, but also has room for putting stuff in it. I was thinking about either a truck or maybe a hatchback, but I'd also be fine with a sedan. Any suggestions? I'm open to buying used also.

Also, I need decent headroom as I am 6'4

It's almost impossible to get a R34 state side here.

It's the US. The R31 and R33 will be an expensive pain to import, the R34 is illegal, the S13, S14 and S15 will all be a bitch to import and the stateside versions will be a bitch to find a clean one for a fair price.

And 20K?

I'd spend a max of 7-8K on a first car...

I'm getting a car that will last a while. I have friends that have cars around that price bracket that their cars have been just shit. Also, my mother will be willing to go almost 50/50 with me.

Australia got some nice performance models of cars as well from Nissan. Toyota, etc.

Too bad the insurance and gas are expensive...

And the licensing process seems tedious.

I would get a Mazda 6 wagon or if you want some power, 2007 Mazdaspeed 6 Grand Touring.

Its not too bad given that you don't import otherwise you gotta bring em up to AUS standards. OTher than that as long as the power to weight ratio of the of the car is below 130kw/t anything higher requires an exception which can be fairly painless.

Dude, you got it wrong. You need something reliable, something that won't break down on you.
