Will the r9 280x run games at ultra/high/medium on a single 1080p 60hz monitor and for how long, i know you cant tell the future but an estimate will be nice

I can tell you that it runs pretty much everything on Ultra 1080p at the moment. If you're willing to sacrifice image quality it will last you a long time on 1080p...

I wear prescription glasses so 24" is kinda optimal for me monitor wise :P, any bigger and i start looking outside my frames. if i can get 3 years out of the card ill be more than willing to upgrade again its only £180 in scotland so that much money every 3 years aint no big deal

If you're looking to spend £180 on a 280x, why not £200 on a 290?

2016-2017 max imo. The card itself already over 3 years old.
