hey,

so i just ordered a  pentium g3258 and a Gigabyte GA-Z97N-WIFI motherboard. I have a r9 280x (i upgraded from that to a gtx 970 in my main rig) that ill put in it. what will this combo be like for games like Word of Tanks or AC4?

Absolutely fine.

1. AC4 will not fare well with the Pentium due to its optimisation, apparently it uses up 70-80% of an i7.

You should have gone h81+ i5 or b85+i3.

 

That cpu will bottleneck a 970 yes but not in those games.

Yeah that will run great, I would suggest saving up some money and upgrading that pentium to an i5 at some point. but for now it will suffice

I don't know much about Pentiums but I had a g620 and it really wasn't that bad

the 970 is in my main rig. I'm putting a 280x in this one. Also i went with z97 because i want to be able to upgrade to something like an i5 4690k in the future.
