Try out / test game for programming competition

Me and a few of my friends have been making game for the *Redacted* Software design competition and this year we were supposed to make a tetris-esqe game. The game is made in C# and the deadish XNA framework, we didn't used Monogame for the comp. as it's still buggy and we didn't want to lose points for something outside of our control. Everything in the game programming wise, including StarByte, sounds, and sprites were all made by us. At this point we've pretty much finished it up with only a few UI, HUD, and sound improvements (Also rebindable keys still need to be enabled... Almost forgot). So I was wondering if some of you want to try it out and help point out any bugs here and there, since we've gone blind to a lot of it after playing so much.

 

EDIT: Looks like it doesn't run on the preview of Windows 10 so be for warned, also the game will only work on Windows machines currently until we port over to MonoGame, after we should gain Linux & Mac support, sorry for any incovience as this is still under active development.

There is a basic custom level system in the game that requires you to make a simple .dat file, so if you'd like you can make your own levels and even share them with us in the thread!

Soo Lemming Tetris? :P Looks intersting...

Except not nearly as good, we had to make complete game from nothing in a few months and we're all students. (Also we've now seen a few tetris platforming games but at the time none of use had ever played/really seen any)

It has a FPS counter so thats already 8/10 in my book ;)

After the competition possibly. It's not over for a couple of days still.

 

You should improve text font in level :)

It's all good, I probably hate this game more than anyone.

Not working for me, I'm on Windows10 tried compatibility mode and it didn't work.

I moved guy on right platform but I didn't won?

It should say in the tutorial that you need to clear the indicated lines too, makes it alot more difficult.

 

 

Not working for me, I'm on Windows10 tried compatibility mode and it didn't work.

Microsoft probably dropped support after 8 since they killed the dev features after 7 and only left application support. I'm not for sure since 10 is a preview build and not really under our scope ATM. If we actually release the game outside of the competition we will probably port it to monogame, the open source continuation, and it should give us support. Sorry about it not working

Yeah, I trapped myself and was trying to restart. Had to exit the level, then restart it. Maybe bind it to a key and have the option to change it.

Works fine on windows 10 as I'm currently running your game while on windows 10?
