So I was just watching this video (

) and they say if you bought 4x8gb sticks 1 week and another 4x8gb a week later that it will not work, that you need to buy all 8 sticks at once as a match pair.

My question is if i got 2 sets of the following (http://www.corsair.com/en/dominator-platinum-series-16gb-4-x-4gb-ddr4-dram-3000mhz-c14-memory-kit-cmd16gx4m4b3000c14) will that work? as that does not come in an 8 stick pack.. so two seperate packs would mean they are not matched.

Thanks for any input!

Just get the 4x8GB 32GB Kit.  You don't have to fill all 8 dimm slots.

Also, it's not that 2 kits won't work together.  They most likely will, just not reliably all the time.  i.e: You may get the odd BSOD, or random reboot.  Which is exactly what happened to me, when I bought 2 matching Dominator Kits a while back, purchased at the same time.  It's a risk you take when buying separate kits, even if they are perfectly matched.

A sticky in the ROG forums, give it a read:  Don’t combine memory kits! The meat and potatoes overview

It really doesn't matter if they're from the same kit tbh. I've got 4 ADATA XPG V2 sticks from 2 different kits, the only difference between them is the colour of the heat spreader and I haven't had any problems. I'd check to see which option offers the lowest price though, it might be cheaper just to buy a kit of 8 rather than 2 kits of 4.
