Dead Mobo?

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

Motherboard is dead.

Hey guys I have a big problem with my ASUS Rampage IV Extreme. Please help!

Today I wake up and go to turn my computer on. I go to press the button and nothing happens. I the press the onboard start button, and nothing happens. I remove the graphics card and try again. Nothing happens. I remove all ram and still nothing not even a post code. I make sure the 24-pin is secure and it is. I then remove all fans from their headers, I also tried to switch out the power cable going to the wall and nothing changed. I take the CPU out to inspect the pins and all pins are fine. I try to boot it again and once again nothing happens.

Please do try to help me! It seems that I have tried everything to fix this. Thanks for reading

Take out the power supply and jump it.

@Bleedman0xx I just tried that and still nothing. I even removed the batter in the Mobo to see if it would do anything. Still no

Unless it's the power supply, (try jumping the power supply with a paperclip as @Godlygamer23 suggested.) you my have to RMA the motherboard.

I know the Mobo is getting some power because the backlight on the start button comes on

Unplug all cables from the motherboard and storage drives. Take your motherboard power connector on the power supply, and find a green and black wire. Put one end into the green wire, and the other in the black wire(any). Do this with the power supply turned off, and then once you've that, turn it back on.

Are you sure it won't damage it in any way?

This will not damage it. It's exactly what the motherboard does when turning on the power supply, except it doesn't use a paper clip.

For the power supply to turn on and continue running.

Okay. Next, take out the motherboard from the case(with no storage drives attached). Make sure all power button, LED, and reset button plugs are not plugged in. Put the motherboard on some kind of box, and plug in the CPU, and motherboard power connector. Get a flat head screwdriver and short the power button pins together, and see if anything happens.
