So I am moving across the US and only taking very few things with me.  I'm flying. Anyone have any advice on methods for shipping my rig.  I have the original box but not the foam for my case (Thermaltake Level 10 GT).  Using Fedex for shipping I think.  The best idea so far is to buy cans of spray foam and fill the empty space with that.  Any ideas?

NOOOOOO not fedex, they smash everything they touch.  Go with UPS much safer bet.

Just did a little research and found out FedEx is a really bad option. The best method is UPS. Get the right amount of insurance, anti static peanuts,a cover for the case and really nothing can go wrong and if it does then you have the insurance. Also leave everything together no need to take out graphics cards and so on.

Get some crumpled paper bags and stuff them inside your case to prevent parts from flailing about inside.

They broke my korean 27" monitor.

Also, make sure you take off any large air heat sink. Those things probably crack your motherboard if they are handled by fed ex, especially if you have a board like Asrock extreme4 with a cheap, thin, PCB.

Take off your CPU Cooler and GPUs and ship them seperately; and carry your HDD with you. For the main case with all of the remaining stuff inside, get some of that anti static bubblerap and put it inside [it appeared in one GPU guide over at the Ncixcom channel] or something non conductive and soft and put it in your cabinet with lots of foam. Just to be safe though I would put a thick layer of bubblewrap around the computer box too. Best of luck nonetheless and I hope everything goes smoothly! :)
