Is this really worth it?

frisky_gecko

So I was scouting around newegg looking at various prices for things and I came across this conundrum. It looks like they are the exact same model of headphones, but one has a straight cable and one has a coiled cable. Is a coiled cable really worth $90? Or am I a complete doofus and missing something?

Probably not an exact production value/price ratio here, but a coiled cable is more valuable to some people, so they charge the premium

You shouldn't even be considering the M50, much less for that price.

If you really must have a can from that lineup, get the M40x.

S = Straight cable.

Beyond that there is no difference. Get the cheaper of the two if you want it. Or go Sennheiser, (my recommendation)

I wasn't necessarily looking at buying either one, I just saw them and was like what the heck is going on here? I thought I was losing my mind because i couldn't rationalize 90 dollars just for a coiled cable. But now that people are chiming in, it seems that the headphones aren't that good anyway.
