Try resetting the BIOS through removal of the CMOS battery for about 10 seconds.

Reseat the ram, take it out and push it back in. It probably is not down all of the way. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Maybe you bumped the computer? Its a common problem... Or your CPU got knocked loose ? Just reseat everything as if you were building a new computer.

i have no thermal paste so taking out the cpu would be a pain

More than likely your board as failed.... too verify

disconnect every thing from the motherboard, take out and reseat the CPU, having no thermal paste doesn't matter for now.

Install one stick of RAM...If it posts Install a 2nd stick of RAM...and continue adding components until it no longer posts, and then you will have the cause of your problem.

If it does not post with either stick of ram in (assuming you have multiple) its either the board (most likely) or the CPU that has failed...

Good Luck.

sounding like either board or CPU is dead.

If my desktop doesn't post, I unplug it from the wall and press the power button to 'drain' all the power! Then plug it back in and try :)

yes thats called an ATX reset, also worth a try...

sounds like a mobo fault

just to clarify

1. checked cpu fitting - didnt work - have you got another board that will take that cpu if so you could try it in that and see what happens

2. checked ram fitting - didnt work - again try in another mobo

3. reset cmos - didnt work

4. reflash bios - didnt work

5. have you tried just a basic boot (by that i mean just keyboard vga and mouse, remove everything else, no hard drive, cd, usb drives and if got onboard video remove any add-in video cards etc)

6. do you get any bios error beeps - quickest way of finds mobo faults 3 beeps normally means faulty ram

7. did you clean shut down your pc last time

8. what was you doing last time you used your pc.

9. what was the last software you installed

10. have you overclocked your pc in anyway

11. how old is your pc

12. have you knocked/dropped your pc recently

some of these questions might seem irreverent but they will all help us to help you. the more info you can give us the faster we can find a solution for you.

p.s i have a hackintosh as well running it on my msi cr700 laptop cpu - intel celeron t3300 dual core 2ghz ram- 4gb ddr2 666mhz gpu- nvidia geforce 8200m g

running os x lion and runs well i can even play minecraft ..... at 20fps lol

answer these and we see if we can help you further
