Chose 12gb because honestly speaking (personally) 8gb isnt enough if you wanna multi task

Other than that this is a solid build with overhead PSU room for xfiring another 290x if you wish to (or handle dual gpu situtations)

If you can't tell, I don't consider a keyboard all that important in gaming. Mouse is super important and the G502 has a "perfect" sensor, but the keyboard really doesn't matter. I suppose you could throw a mechanical keyboard into the second build, but I probably wouldn't bother.

I have no experience with the games he wants to play.

Do you think two 290s are necessary for them? I am not sure how much horse power those games require...

I always like to have an ssd as the OS drive in a build and am wondering if he can get by with just one 290 and get a second in the future.

Go with @Lotus' first build, it's probably by far the best setup you can get for this price.

1440p is so much better than 1080p and you'll be able to max every game out at that resolution with dual 290's.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

I suppose getting an SSD later is an option.

Didn't think about that. Haha

Makes sense if you want the best gaming performance from the get go.

I am just so used to SSDs now I don't think I could live without it. Haha

That's an excellent build btw.

Cheers

No thanks.

So why not put in an R9 295X2?

A GTX 970 running a 1080 monitor is going to comfortably get over 60fps in Arma 3, http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-970-maxwell,3941-9.html. GPU power only makes sense if one can use it. Otherwise it is simply throwing money away.

There's still 20$ left, to be used on peripherals. Those, you HAVE to buy in real life. Go to a local store, and test it with your own hands. Sometimes, a cheaper mouse/keyboard might feel a lot better, once you are actually holding it. By buying online, you risk buying an unconfortable product. Just trust me on that one, and do it.

At any rate, the build has a 1440p monitor. It also has a freaking transparent watercooler, that comes with various ink colors for you to match the (in this case blue) theme of your build. Have fun!

Nope, you'll be fine without a disk drive. In fact, some people prefer cases that don't have driver bays, because "it ruins the visual of the case". It is a dying media. At any rate, if you DO need one, you could always get a USB driver (that's what I did!).

Also, any preference for a particular color? We could try and better match our builds to any style.

Okay! Here's an update on the build. Once again, it has a 1440p for you to play with. I also updated the color scheme: a white case (and a personal favorite!) with some splashes of black, a black motherboard with some splashes of white, and stunning red RAM, Gpu (with black) and CPU cooler. On that note, you have to dye the water inside the cooler red, but don't worry, it already comes with a bottle of red ink.

Still, that went a bit over budget. Oh well, that's the price you pay for a themed build. Tell me if you liked it, we can change anything at will.

The monitor- not being picky but if we can just get a 1080p monitor right now I will upgrade later to a better one.

Water cooler- I DO NOT trust myself with water around tech I thought that was just one of the normal Corsair H100i one. I'd be fine with tha. I seen a cool nzxt red one in my friends!

I don't need a super monitor I wanna save money for now then upgrade later

Any white or blue graphics cards how's this look?

But that IS a normal AIO cooler like the h100i. If you don't feel like dying the water, just don't do it, it'll still work just like an h100i, while being cheaper and stronger.

And that may just be me, but I think that buying a 1080p monitor now to upgrade later is dumb. I mean, if you had to cut down on parts just to get it, it would make sense. But right now, even if you were to use the money of the monitor into the build (say... a 2nd 970), you wouldn't see any improvement, as a single 970 is already maxing stuff at your current resolution.

As such, you can get a 1440p monitor NOW, and never have to upgrade it for a LOOONG time.

Get a different PSU. THe EVGA G1 units are sub-par and not worth the money. Get either the G2 version (a great PSU), or go with a Rosewill Capstone if you want to stay at gold.

You also would be better off with a 240GB SSD or larger. I recommend the newly released BX100. Same price as the old MX100, but write speeds to match the 840 Evo for less cost.

Also, at least for me, I tend not to upgrade monitors for several years. I kept my first LCD monitor for like 9 years (bought in 2005, didn't replace until end of 2014). It's worth it to get the monitor you want now.

If you just want 1080p gaming and no more, I recommend my conservative built, but if you really want 1440p gaming goodness, then go for my first all-out build. If it were me, I'd try and go for the 1440p build.

How is the G1 650W a subpar PSU? It'll do everything we could ask for. The G2 750w is 39% more expensive, for 0% more performance. You are also adding unneeded wattage, that will actually decrease PSU efficiency until OP goes for SLI.

No gpu... are you serious? Care to tell me what was the point of the thread again?

I think you might have mistyped when you wrote "it's for heavy gaming for games like Arma 3 Arma life mod h1z1 and so on".
