Sometimes, I get Q-Code 40, and sometimes, it's just AO. Either way, the PC works fine. No freezing, hitching, anything. *Knock on wood*. Is this anything to worry about?

hey i'm from montreal too :)

according to this thread if you read it, the guys say it's normal:

http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?45342-ASUS-Maximus-VI-Formula-Q-Code-40

This seems to come back on every forum that i go to for informations:

According to the manual, the code means that the motherboard is waking up from the s4 sleep state. The code doesn't seem to be an error. It seems to be just a notification.

I probably wouldn't even be able to meet up with you anyway. Loyola sucks all my time away with the homework.

And, as for the code, it seems a simple reboot every time it occurs fixes it... Why would it be waking up though? These boots are all from cold shut down.

Q-codes give both status notifications and error codes, so just because it's displaying a code doesn't mean that something is wrong.  A sleep state doesn't necessarily mean that the computer was sleeping, a power saving feature of these boards is to put the processor in various states of sleep to conserve power.  (At a guess, that's what going on.)

I think I've seen similar codes on my M7H.

If you start experiencing issues, then you want to refer to the Q-code, otherwise don't worry about it.
