H100i....its dead

Well after a year of acting weird the bastard is finally dead. Ive hated that thing since about a week after i got it the LEDs never seemed to work right and now the pump is slowly dying.My temps almost reach 90C now and ive even removed my insane overclock.

 

So for ease and a maintenance friendly experience I going Custom water cooling.

 

My question is: Can anyone suggest a complete water cooling kit for about 250-300USD? I cant use Drive bay mounting  

 reservoir because i don't have any drive bays.

You could potentially build a custom loop with 300 bucks.

I never had a custom loop so I could be wrong, but I didn't think that is what a custom loop is or does or whatever word you want to use

Yeah OP custom loops are a PAIN there is a bit of maitenence...

Frozen CPU would be who has bundles if anyone did. OP: are we talking about the rig in your signature?

i was going to do it this way so it would be easy to get all the parts but its still all interchangeable and expandable.

 

-i don't think an air cooler would handle my overclock too well

Yep gotta flush and clean the loops atleast once a year (don't have to but it's best to keep temps low and prevent algae)

No I know that... I meant I thought OP wanted custom loop, but he wants a kit.

Why do people recommend the H100i?  Just check this forum, its a daily occurrence where someone complains about their H100i for one reason or another.

 

If you aren't dead set on a custom loop, give the Cooler Master Nepton 240M a look-see.  Its an excellent performer, and is super quiet, Noctua level quiet.

 

You could try and RMA the H100i, it is well within warranty.  At least get a new one to sell it at the very least.

yessir, it is a good start. i'm not a fan of the AX rad, the RX (if one has the case

for it is better) is $30 more. the AX shroud causes fitment issues.

and to add fuel to the fire, the RX360 kit is $294

Either of those options are excellent jumping off points for someone looking to get into custom water cooling. Will have to bookmark that link for later in case anyone asks for something along those lines.

My H100 (not i) has been recently giving me more poor performance even after a cleaning and new thermal-paste, it's very old.

I plan on building a custom loop soon.

For the Record I Ordered the XSPC Raystorm Kit with a triple rad and a EK Res/pump Cause the Photon 170mm/Vario D5 was out so they substituted. Kinda weird =P

Ugh don't remind me about that.... Ordered literally like 2 days before that "announcement" from people. Thought I'd still end up getting it just cause you know, they sent it out just before the firings, but nope =\  $100 down the drain
