(first i must apologize for my terrible english, I'm really trying to put in here what I'm trying to do, so if u don't understand something pls ask me i will do my best to explain it)

so I'm trying to build a nice enthusiastic build for high end gaming and leaving the space to upgrade in the near future (black friday  :D ), i haven't yet bought it i will do it in a month or so but this is what i have so far:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Lanzuel/saved/6MDMnQ

so a few things about this build before u say that is bad :

1- I'm trying to do it black blue colors with leds so that it looks cool and everything, i don't know much about cooling...(a little help here)

2-i do need a monitor, mouse and keyboard  so thats why I'm not doing SLI yet

3-i don't live in the USA so thats why I'm trying to leave it around $1.8k (need to send it to the caribbeans  :) ) this actually will cost my around $ 2.1k to $2.2k to bring it  :(

4-and I'm new doing this, I'm quite afraid this will end in a disaster so i really need your help

First thx a lot IAMSWIFT1 for responding so quickly i appreciate it a lot

now after reading reading an cheek it completely i want to ask a few question

1- i have a corsair h80 (i bought a long time ago because i thought i could make a nice pc and that moment but couldn't sigh  ) do i actually need to upgrade that part or shouldn't i???

2-i know that 8gb of ram is enough for almost all game now but why ddr3-1333 memory and not a 1866 or 2100???

3- samsung 850 its better than the Corsair Force LX Series 256GB ??

4- uhmm i know that the gtx 980 its better but it cost quite a lot more, i mean if i do sli 970 its only $90 more and i get an overall better performance. i was planing on buying a second 970 on black friday but buying a 980 well maybe un april next year but not on november

5- WOW what a nice case  :D

6-uhmm the monitor i have there is a 144hz and u suggest i should buy a 60hz i know thts its cheaper but i actually don't know why chose a 144hz over an 60hz a friend of mine told me for fps is a must but i only play fps every now and then (i prefer rpg, moba and such) should i take the 60hz and why?

7- about the keyboard and mouse why u recommend them?

srry for the long post and all the things I'm asking from u, i do really appreciate this :D

uhmm

nchilds98 and EllieThePurpleFuzzy

i have almost the same question for both of u, so i will combine them

1-i5 over i7? just cause its cheaper or thrs another why ?(I don't want to change the processor for sometime if i could)  both of them are k series so i could oc both so any other why?

2-same question about the cooler i have and corsair h80 should i upgrade it or not?? why?

3-both of u have a Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($152.99 @ Newegg) i have a kingston predator 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 memory for $142.74 is a few $ less and more memory, isn't it better that way??

4- the store for ssd i prefer at least 240 even though its a samsung 840

5- the hard drive i did like EllieThePurpleFuzzy i did like that it was a 7200 rpm but why so expensive its the seagate barracuda a bad choice??

6- video card this is whr u both differ amd vs nvidia i did like that nchilds98 used a sli gtx970 in his build cause that what i was aiming for but for BFD, but EllieThePurpleFuzzy its that amd r9 290 better option than the nvidia 970 and why?

7-the case full tower its almost a no no, cause i have to pay $5 for every pound i bring to my country so it gets a little to expensive to buy a full tower over a mid tower. And the fractal, i have seen videos of it but i don't know why should i pick it over any other more cheaper and decent case i picked the Cooler Master Storm Scout 2 Advanced cause of the cable management.

8- both of u didn't get into the monitor, keyboard and mouse if u have any idea or recommendation pls do so i would really love any help i can get, i have never ever ever never bought a gaming oriented keyboard, mice nor monitor

again srry fro the long post but any help u can give me its well received  :)

srry for the long post and all the things I'm asking from u, i do really appreciate this :D

  1. You are perfectly fine with your h80.
  2. Because it doesn't mater. 1333mhz or 2400mhz, the performance is the same (games). So why spend extra money?
  3. Because your SSD is super expensive, for no real reason.
  4. SLi 970 > 980
  5. -
  6. I'll go into the monitor on my build..
  7. Don't buy those. Now, it's not because they are bad, but because you HAVE to test it in real life. A cheaper option might feel much better than a more expensive one, once you actually hold it with your hands. Trust me, go to a local store, and buy it there.

Anyway, here's my build. As mentioned, I removed the mouse and keyboard. But, I added a copy of windows. The main advantage, however, is that you are getting a 1440p monitor for a much better image. Have fun!

About that monitor. It's because it's a lot cheaper. If you can afford more than a 60hz 1080p panel, but can't afford a 1440p, a 144hz 1080p is a good choice. It will reduce eye fatigue (or so they say) and it'll look marginally better (or so they say) if your GPU can output that many FPS. Also, it avoids screen tear, as the monitor can refresh more often.

2 way SLI 980 (which consumes more than 2-way 970) with a 5930k CPU (which consumes a lot more than a 4790k) only pulled 370w from the wall, according to Linus. Factor in the 90% efficiency of the PSU, and you are looking at 333w of REAL wattage.

I think it's pretty obvious that a 650w PSU will do.
