That PSU is good enough for OCing GPUs and CPU. But please buy at least a Bronze rated 12V single rail PSU.

And save yourself a HUGE hassle and buy at the very least a semi-modular PSU. Full modular if you can wing it. Seriously. Life is just easier with a modular PSU.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

According to linus, SLI 980 (which consumes more than 970s) pulled 370w. So you should be golden with a 600W PSU. And naturally, a 750W will also do just fine.

750W is more than enough.  However, i would make sure it is at least silver if you will be consuming that much power.

the CX750M version is the updated version of the original CX750

the 12 volts rails have been beef up so it can power dual 280Xs without spasms

http://www.corsair.com/en/cx-series-cx750m-modular-atx-power-supply-750-watt-80-plus-bronze-certified-modular-psu

make sure the PSU is what you see in the product page

the original CX750 are known to trip when the wattage goes close to 700 watts, the fan will ramp up and go pop later causing the PC to shut down

You will be never near close to 700W with a GTX970 2way SLI on Z97...

Sorry but a GTX970 2way SLI with the CPU is max OCed with standard BIOS 500W peak. So there won´t be any issues at all.

yes the GTX970 wont draw that high

i was more concerned of the generation of the CX model

i seen one setup running with dual 280X with the CX750 and the PSU just went pop when we always though it should be enough wattage

What if 3?

3 is not possible unless you buy X99 mainboard and at least a 5820K with 28 PCIe 3.0 lanes.

And then I´d buy a EVGA 1000W Gold. One of the best PSUs of its Watts class out there.

Well yeah you are going to have one powerful PC then :). That PSU will definitely do though I have to give some of the guys credit and a semi modular PSU would definitely look nicer and be easier to route in the case. And all your other components are pretty good.

With this CPU and mainboard you can go as high as 2way SLI. Your CPU supports 16 native PCIe lanes and that means your GPUs will run with PCIe 3.0 8x each which equals to PCIe 2.0 16x bandwidth wise and is perfectly fine.
