Windows bluescreened: Help?

So, I was minding my own business, not really pushing my rig, when Windows bluescreened. I would like to have someone figure out what caused it, so that I can make sure there isn't a bad problem somewhere. Tell me what you need, and I will try to get it.

Most BSODs are just random and aren't really a cause for concern unless it's repeated, so you won't really need to worry.

I'm just overly cautious and want to make sure there isn't some deep down problem that can fuck shit up. ;)

Download "BlueScreenView" from Nirsoft. It will find the recent dumps, show the offending file and also provide the STOP message code. You can either research the info it gives or screenshot it and post it here for us to look at.

My desktop BSOD-ed while I was browsing LTT at the exact time it was shut down to fix the malware issue thing.

Literally.

It caused a BSOD D:

i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo); ASrock Z87 EXTREME4; 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 RAM @ 2133MHz; Asus DirectCU GTX 560; Super Flower Golden King 550 Platinum PSU;1TB Seagate Barracuda;Corsair 200r case.

If its been a while since your last reboot that could be why.

Try running some stress test [rograms and see if it happens again.

What was the stop code?

Just because it listed a dll dosn't mean it is not hardware related.

 

Edit: just checked the hal.dll it is almost certainly a hardware related issue

I would guess it is caused by an overclock or memory/bus timing issue.
