Planning to do a "White & Gold" Overhaul on my rig...

So I just ordered myself a NZXT H440 in white but won't be getting it for some time as it's out of stock everywhere in Vancouver. Things I have planned for so far is white sleeved psu cables, more white LED fans. What I'm wondering is will metallic gold spray paint be conductive/recommended for painting over the backplate for my GPU?

It's probably not very conductive, spray painting the backplate on your GPU will be fine as long as you don't paint the backside of your cards PCB.

Yea, I'm planning to take off the backplate as it actually didn't come with one so I had to order one myself and throw it on. Would it be okay to spray the whole backplate to make it look like as if it's actually gold?

Yea, I know about the Galax HoF, for the price of this card, I might aswell jump the border and buy a GTX 980.

If only this card had come out at the same time as the others, my PC would be looking all white at this moment and not red/black

It shouldn't be a problem at all, since it is originally metal itself paint will only help insulate it, just make sure to mask the bottom of the backplate so it maximizes heat transfer for locations where thermal pads go.

 

As for paint if you want super bright and vibrant paints, car paints work awesome and have a wider selection, one note though for metal flaked paint some of those can be conductive.
