This is going to be my first build and would like to have something that would last me a bit of time.
At the same time I would like to stay in the price range of $1000 - $1500 including the operating system and monitor

so far this is what ive put together any suggestions?

wow, thanks for the fast reply! definitely will look into the cooling fan, but i would prefer to stick with the GTX 970. im getting a 1080p for budget reasons and planning on getting a 1440p further down the road.
