840 Pro vs 850 Pro?

Not particularly, they 840 Pro is an insanely solid drive and shouldn't give you any headaches. The 850 Pro is just a different way of doing what the 840 Pro does.

Both SSDs are great, but if you already own a 840 Pro I would suggest you stay with it.
