7950 - CX 430?

However, i cannot afford to upgrade my psu at the moment for this card. My psu is a cx 430.

My system specs: 

i5 3550 @stock with stock fan(77 watt cpu)

one chassis fan enabled 

one ddr3 8gb stick

no optical drive

corsair cx 430 psu 

 

Will i safely be able to use this graphics card in the link on my computer?

If it's the new CX430 with 32a on the 12v rail it should be fine, I wouldn't risk it on the older version though.

The new CX430 V2 will barely cut it, the old one not a chance. I would not do it on either. Even if you have the V2 (32a on 12v) still consider upgrading your PSU for the sake of reliability.

i tried the psu calculator, it recommends 300 watts.. yet some of you say the cx 430 won't cut it... gosh hardware can sure be confusing.

As long as you don't run a heat virus like furmark, you should be ok. The issue is only a big one if you do heavy overclocking or have a thirsty cpu (like an FX 9000 series)
