So, this past December, my G700 reached the end of its warranty period. Just after that, I began experiencing the dreaded double left click issue that mice are sadly plagued with. It stops me from being able to drag windows and icons, and opens files I didn't intend to open (not to mention opening 2 tabs in a browser on accident..).

I've seen fixes as simple as spraying compressed air on the switch through the gap on the body to re-soldering the leads to wiping it down with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab.

I was wondering if anybody knew of any other fixes aside from these before I tear apart my mouse and start fiddling about within it. I love the mouse, and would rather not replace it if at all possible.

I wouldn't worry about the warranty thing, Logitech's customer support is atrocious, and there's a large thread on their forums about this problem. I just skimmed through and besides a few voodoo ticks ;)  you're best bet may be to operate.

If you haven't seen it yet here's one guide someone put up on there: http://burakenez.org/2014/08/15/logitech-wireless-gaming-g700-mouse-right-and-left-button-double-clicking-problem-solution/

Hope you can get it working again.

I think their support was pretty good that one time I had to use them but it was for the diNovo Edge keyboard and not a mouse.

But Logitech mice are apparently prone to this phantom double click. Apparently its related to dust getting underneath the mouse and interfering with the connectors which can cause this issue.  Try using air compressor and blowing it underneath the mouse button and see if that can resolve your issue. if not then you might need to dismantle your mouse and clean it that way.

My current workaround is rebinding one of the macro buttons to left click for use when the mouse is acting up. Fairly comfortable feel to be honest. I navigated all the way to this page doing it that way.

It's an issue all mice encounter over time, but I do hear that it happens sooner to Logitech mice, for whatever reason. The mouse is about 3-4 years old at this point, and I've used it for upwards of 5000 hours of use (figuring that I use it at least 5 hours a day, every day, over the course of 3 years minimum). It certainly sounds like it's time for the mouse to start failing, I just dread the moment it happens though.

What I'd do is contact Logitech customer support and tell them what's going on. Ask them what the best method to repair would be. They've been very generous and cool with me for the past 12 years or so. Can't guarantee that they'll be as cool, but they might give you a coupon or something, if they don't offer to replace it outright (even out of warranty), which has happened to me before as well.
