Any ideas where to start? im a newb

download Precision X, set a temp/power target, go +30 on the gpu und +300 on the memory. then start stepping it up step by step until it fails in games or reaches a too high temp. (like +10 on gpu and +50 on mem)

Edit: what card do you actually have?

no i meant which model from what retailer (msi, evga, asus...)

but then i saw that you are running a 1280x1024 monitor so why would you overclock your card?

the difference is in the cooling solution. Its important to know whether you have a stock heatsink or a nice custom one. But you cant tell if you dont see it in you pc. there for you had to open it and i think this voids the warranty but i dunno.

Otherwise i would wait for the 1080p screen and see how it goes. then decide if you want to oc or not. and if you want go like i said earlier. most of the time you can just ramp up the mem clock by 500mhz and the gpu step by step starting with around +30 then add 10 so long till you see graphic fails. If you do then bump up the temp and power target up keep in mind that you shouldnt go above 85° or so. If you want to go crazy and have the cooling then you can also crank up the voltages by a few mV but i wouldnt really recommend that if you are a oc noob :P
