Has anyone ever used it? I'm about to buy one for my 3930k, I figure 35$ to replace a 500+ $ processor is a good deal lol

I'm pretty sure that at 4.5ghz 1.36v you should be fine.

also I'm not sure how long it lasts,I've heard 1 year from the time of purchasing the plan and I've also heard that it extends until the 3 year warranty on the processor runs out..

though if it gives you peace of mind.....

Well I mean even if so, I'd still rather be safe than sorry, coz I really DO NOT want to spend another 550$ on a replacement lol

35$ is a good price for something thats worth 10x+ more lol

Umm, if you fry the proc they replace it? Wut?

yeah that's exactly how it works.

The Performance Tuning Protection Plan is an additional plan that a customer can purchase to cover processor failures caused by operating the eligible processor outside of Intel’s published specifications.

so basically if you take your processor to 5.3ghz @1.6v and it dies on you in a year, intel replaces it for you.

thats pretty awesome! alltho it will definitly shorten the lifetime of proc, at least you have guaranteed that it WILL run at that speed

You have to buy it within 1 year of you purchasing the processor and it lasts the reminder of the standard warranty of your processor.

'The Plan provides a one-time replacement: (i) only applicable to the replacement of Eligible Processors (defined below) and (ii) only when the Plan is purchased within one (1) year of the purchase of the Eligible Processor. The Plan may only be purchased from the Plan website (www.intel.com/go/tuningplan). The Performance Tuning Protection Plan does not affect the length of the standard 3 year warranty. The Plan will cover the processor running out of specifications for the remainder of the standard 3 year warranty.'

I personally have it my self, on my 3570K and on my 3770K. Honestly, it is just an extra insure in case you damage your CPU. I think it is worth getting if you overclock.

I would buy it since you can replace your cpu even if you damage it for a cheap price instead of having to buy a new one that costs a lot if you break it.

Will they replace a de-lidded cpu under this plan?

Probably not because you altered it and someone talked about this in a forum: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/679220-post20.html
