Gamepad with most buttons

Gondvanaz

I am looking for gamepad with as much as possible buttons. According to this guy http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=72832.20 the programmable buttons of this one are 16. First of all, are "Select" and "Start" usable as game buttons... i mean can you change their function of gamepad regulation? I was thinking that you can't. But even with them i am counting 14

Where are the other two?

Also i couldn't find information in their official site. Is D-PAD 8-directional or 4? Because there are only 4 arrows on the D-PAD. Also are analogue sticks 360. D-PAD's 8 directionality and analogue sticks 360 is pretty important to me because i will play FIFA where the turns are extremely important.

And in my country is availbale this one http://www.thrustmaster.com/products/ferrari-wireless-gamepad-430-scuderia-limited-edition

They are same, aren't they? It looks like that only different thing is the colour.

For the last time i bought gamepad 8-9 years ago. There is specification "7-axis", what does it mean?

I have nothing useful to say regarding that controller, but my god it looks so terribly uncomfortable. I say you're better off with an Xbox One controller. Lol

I will be honest... it looks really uncomfortable. Especially L2 and R2 which  are underneath. Anything else which is a lot of buttons is this one http://easy-touch.com/en/1138-et-2131-gladius-usb#prettyPhoto but i acrually prefer Thrusmaster because of the optical wheel. Do you have any experience with gamepads? Generally are "start" and "select" configurable?
