So normally I use chrome/FF/Opera anything apart from IE.

not used Ie really properly since IE8.

I wanted to try something different apart from the norm my list above.

Also with the news of Spartan I thought I should see what the current IE is like so I can see what's been improved.

So I decided i'm going to use IE only for 1 month & see of I can stay with it long term. To ensure this I have wiped All other Browsers off my machine This also shows me what Standard users see when they visits site I've done. I had to Install IE11 As I uninstalled it on W8.1

So

Can you use IE only for 1 month?

What ive done top make it fair

- Setup Google as default search

- Setup IE version of Adblock Plus (tracking privacy listings)

- Lastest version of Flash

What i've noticed so far

- LOT less ram resources used. from 800MB (chrome) to 200MB (IE) watching YouTube.

- Speed is the same.

I've heard IE has gotten a lot better, but it still has the bad rep from the old days. I don't use it because I'm used to Chrome and it ties in with all of my Google accounts, so it's nifty for me.

I've moved over to using IE on my Surface, still on Chrome on Desktop though.

I find that Chrome uses a lot more battery than IE does, so its the deciding factor when its a device running on battery power.

That and the fact on my surface, its actually quite nice to have OneNote on half the screen and "Metro" IE on another half to browse course material. Its actually been working pretty well.

The only thing I miss in IE over Chrome is a few extensions, mainly PushBullet, though that also has a desktop client.

so on this forum you cant paste stuff in the message box...

everywhere else is fine.... very bad on Linustechtips :(

Yea, it's a IE thing. Not everything comes up correctly on IE(other browsers mess up as well though) which is why I'm super excited to have Spartan. I think I may use Spartan for my main n Firefox as a back up. RN IE is my back up.
