I am looking for good free video editing program

You won't find great editing software for free but if I was to recommend video editing software for starting out, you should check out Sony Vegas Movie Studio. It's like Sony Vegas but without the bells and whistles (effects etc.) It's not free but it's fairly cheap.

Intel i7 4790k / MSI Z97M / Hyper 212 Evo / MSI Twin Frozr GTX 770 / 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz / Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 / Corsair CS750M / Samsung 840 Evo 250gb SSD /  WD Blue 1TB

I would just get the trial of a good program, like Avid Media Composer, it lasts 30 days. If you like it you can get a student trial subscription as long as you have a .edu email address, and it's only $10 a month. This is also true for other editing programs like Adobe Premiere Pro, I think Sony Vegas as well. For only $30 you can get the best for 3 months, I think that's an incredible deal.

You could always get them by other means for free, but it's up to you.
