After recently installing a new motherboard(Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3), because my old one (Gigabyte 970a-g46) had fried, I could not get it to work. Upon further research I need to update the BIOS in order to get the AM3+ processor to work. How would I go about doing this, since I have no other processor, and the video card does not output anything.

CPU: AMD FX 8350 GPU: Reference GTX 980ti Motherboard: Gigabyte 990fxa-Ud3 (rev. 4.0) RAM: 16GB 1600 Speed Memory Power Supply: Corsair CX600m 600 watt PSU Case: NZXT H440

if you dont have a compatible CPU to do a flash and it doesn't support flashing via USB then you will need to return it for one that has a later bios.

The motherboard does support flashing over USB, but I haven't been able to get the board to the BIOS in the first place.

Sorry I should have said that it needs to support flashing over USB just from a power on state ( no cpu in the socket )

I can't tell if it does, should I take the cpu out and see if I can get it to post?
